2019 MUSH FEST & MUSHROOM CENTRAL
For a small amount, breakfast will be offered by the Cave Spring Activities Committee, Chef: Nancy Fricks & Crew
We plan to caravan from the park, but it you come on your own, follow these directions:
From downtown Cave Spring, GA, go south on US 100 for 4 miles to Esom Hill Road. Road turns into a gravel road, drive about 1 mile. Another gravel road comes off at the right which is Old Jackson Chapel Rd. There are several trails in that part of the Pinhoti trail system.
The trail is marked with the turkey blaze.
Part of the trail will be accessed off GA 100, 4 miles south of Cave Spring. The trail is part of the 300 plus miles of the multi-use Pinhoti Trail System which stretches across Northern Georgia and into Alabama.
We will circle around this beautiful lake, go to the waterfall and
follow the creeks in the bottom lands where there is a mix of hardwood tree.
More details available soon: Caravaning from Rolater Park on GA 100 south to the trail head on Jackson Chapel Rd. Walk starts at 10 a.m.
The Old Jackson Chapel Rd section slopes toward Hematite Lake, with pines to mixed forest, and with several creeks with a small water fall combining at the lower end.
